The WeBinaRt / Master Class series of this new TRIPTYCH is an opportunity to discover Bettina DRUMMOND - an American rider trained by the Master Nuno Oliveira and his son João (Portuguese ecuyers) and influenced by Ecuyers of the Cadre Noir of Saumur (France). She transmits the "Equitation de Tradition Française" to the USA, which earned her the honor of the Cadre Noir de Saumur in 2018 by awarding her the title of Honorary Ecuyer of the Cadre Noir. Taking part in her classes and interacting with her is a great privilege.

She delivers to us here her incredible memories and shares the lessons of Nuno Oliveira and the equestrian encounters that have marked her for life.

WBR1 - "Transmission of French Riding"

A unique opportunity to discover Bettina DRUMMOND and her special path of life. She had the chance to be trained by Master Nuno OLIVEIRA. She was not a student who attended courses regularly, but she lived in Avessada and followed the teachings of the Master and his son João every day, then helping them to train the horses and present them in public.
At the age of 16, Master Nuno Oliveira asked her to defend in the USA the riding which he dedicated his own life.

This Masterclass takes place in 3 parts:
1. Bettina tells about her childhood and her first equestrian impregnations from the age of 3 in England, the USA, in France, then the encounters that marked her life and her equestrian vision, such as the one with Nuno OLIVEIRA.
2. A mission from the age of 16 : Transmitting French Riding to the USA.
Meetings with General Durand, Jean-Marie Donard, Patrick Le Rolland ...
3. Rehabilitation of sport and personal horses (this part is completed in WBR2)

2. LIVE COACHING. Bettina will comment videos previously sent by participants and she will give advice to progress.

Bettina DRUMMOND, trained by Master Nuno OLIVEIRA and Honor Ecuyer of the Cadre noir of Saumur (France), now devotes most of her time to developing what she calls "Haute-École in the garden"
and stages artistic events where major arts such as music, dance, sculpture inspire equestrian art... Unique and sublime.

✅ Gerald INCANDELA, Photograph & Painter
Born in Tunisia, Mr. Incandela immigrated to the U.S. after first traveling extensively throughout Europe making Super-8 movies in Berlin, studying photography and learning the art of printing. Today he is renowned for his unique photographic process of merging drawing with photography. His process includes altering his images in the darkroom as he applies the developer with a paint brush revealing only certain elements of each print. As a result, Mr. Incandela's breathtaking photographs blur reality with abstraction.
Mr. Incadela's work is featured in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Seattle Art Museum and the Albright-Knox Museum in Buffalo.

✅ Bernard SACHSÉ, Equestrian and artistic advisor & Pianist
He first turned towards entertainment and cinema and took part in around thirty films (The Daughter of D'Artagnan, Germinal, The Black Stallion, La Reine Margot, Le Hussard sur le Toit ...) as an adjuster or stuntman, notably in Mario Luraschi's team. In 1994, an accident left him paraplegic.
​
In 2006 he was technical advisor and horse trainer for the film "Danse avec lui" directed by Valérie Guignabodet with Mathilde Seigner, Sami Frey and Jean-François Pignon. The film takes place in part in his stable in Tourly.
His passion for horses, his courage, his tenacity and his perfect knowledge of equestrian techniques allow him to go back on horseback. He participates in and wins many handisport competitions up to the international level. Denis Dercourt's film "En Équilibre" with Albert Dupontel and Cécile de France was loosely based on Bernard Sachsé's autobiography "Sur mes quatre pieds".

Christine Gummere has been performing in New York City since 1977, playing music of many periods and styles, including French, German, and Italianbaroque and classical on period cello. Groups she has performed with includeConcert Royal, Early Music New York, the American Classical Orchestra, and theNew York Collegium.
She is the founder of Music at Brooklyn Friends.

Educated at the Art Center College of Design of Pasadena (California) and at the Art Institute of Santa Fe (New Mexico), his pieces of work had been exhibited and are well known all over the world : Barcelona (Spain), New York, Ashland, Portland et Jacksonville (Oregon), Las Vegas, Odaiba (Japon)...

Calling on Liska to create a work for the WeBinaRts was obvious. Her sensitivity is such that she perceives beyond appearances and above all feels emotions. Her creativity and artistic expression could only merge with Bettina's Performance Art.
